Avocet’s New Hangar Completed

Construction has been completed on Avocet’s 55,510 SQFT maintenance facility at the Orlando-Sanford Int’l Airport. Avocet moved its major operations to the new site and plans for a grand opening event are under way.

Avocet Certifies Fifth CF6-50 Engine

Avocet completed it’s fifth CF6-50 “on wing” engine certification for I2I Engines. The M.P.A. was accomplished using Avocet’s DC-10-30 test aircraft.

Construction Update #4

We are excited to present the following update:

The roof and walls of the hangar, office, and shop area have been completed and all of the windows have been installed
Work has begun on painting the exterior of the building and hanging of the overhead lights in the hangar
Work has begun on assembling and installing the hangar doors and installing the Lightning Protection and Fire Suppression Systems

Construction is on schedule and will be completed for our January 2011 Grand Opening! Keep checking back for more updates as construction moves forward.

DC-9-30 Airframes

Avocet is to acquire twenty three (23) DC-9-30 airframes for teardown and disposition in the coming months. To date, Avocet has received 15 aircraft with the remaining 8 to be delivered by year’s end.

Approximately 95% of the iron skeleton is completed
Approximately 75% of the office roof is up
The office and shop roofs are set to be completed within the coming weeks

Avocet To Certify CF6-50 Engines

Avocet signs Common Terms Agreement with I2I Engines, LLC to certify CF6-50 series engines “on-wing”. These certified engines will be added to I2I’s engine pool to support CF6 powered DC-10, A300, and B747 aircraft currently operating.

Construction Update #2

We are excited to present the following update:

The concrete for the hangar’s floor has been poured as well most of the ramp that connects the hangar to the asphalt
Approximately 95% of the underground items, such as sewer pipes, have been completed and the block work on the offices has started
The electric and phone lines have been “roughed in” to the office area, communication room, and pump house
Approximately 50% of the permanent fencing is up

Construction is moving ahead of schedule and will be completed for our January 2011 grand opening! Keep checking back for more updates as construction moves forward…
