MRO Services

Avocet provides a full spectrum of maintenance, repair and overhaul services designed to keep aircraft safe, compliant and mission ready.

Our current heavy maintenance capabilities span both Airbus and Boeing narrow-body and wide-body families as well as the Airbus A319, A320, A321, and A320neo family with Boeing 737 MAX approvals in active development to serve the next generation of narrow-body fleets.

With two multi-agency facilities in Central Florida, up to three simultaneous narrow-body maintenance bays under roof, and a team backed by decades of hands-on experience across both Boeing and Airbus platforms, we deliver consistent results across scheduled programs, unscheduled events, and complex special projects. Our multi-facility footprint provides the slot flexibility to respond quickly to customer requirements, in most cases, we can induct an aircraft within four weeks of first contact, giving operators, lessors, and cargo carriers the scheduling agility that today’s market demands.

Heavy Maintenance

Avocet performs the full range of airframe heavy maintenance checks on Boeing and Airbus narrow-body aircraft, from routine A and B checks through comprehensive C and D check packages.

Our teams bring deep, proven experience across the Boeing 737 Classic and 737 NG as well as the Airbus and Boeing narrow-body and wide-body families, with approvals for the Boeing 737 MAX currently in progress.

Every maintenance event is managed by a dedicated project team that provides daily progress updates, milestone tracking, and proactive identification of additional findings, minimizing downtime while ensuring every task is completed to the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.

Scheduling and Slot Availability

Avocet understands that maintenance schedules rarely follow a straight line. Airlines face unscheduled events, lessors manage overlapping transitions, and cargo operators need to keep capacity online during peak demand. Our multi-facility footprint and workforce depth give us the slot flexibility to respond quickly to your heavy maintenance requirements. In most cases, we can induct an aircraft within four weeks of first customer contact, a level of responsiveness that allows our customers to plan with confidence and react to changing fleet needs without lengthy wait times for hangar availability.

Phased Check Programs

For operators who cannot afford extended out-of-service periods, Avocet regularly performs phased and segmented check programs designed to work alongside your operational schedule. By breaking a large maintenance event into smaller, sequential packages, phased checks allow aircraft to remain in revenue service between visits while still completing the full scope of required maintenance within the required interval. Our project management team works closely with each customer’s planning and scheduling departments to build phased check timelines that align with route networks, seasonal demand, and fleet availability, ensuring maintenance gets done without unnecessarily grounding revenue-generating assets.

Aircraft Painting and Refinishing

Avocet offers full aircraft strip and paint services at our Lakeland facility, delivering showroom-quality exterior finishes for narrow-body aircraft. From complete livery changes, white-tail lease-return finishes, and operator rebrands to touch-up and detail work, our paint team works to exacting standards using industry-approved coatings and processes. For lessors and operators managing lease returns, combining paint with scheduled maintenance or transition work eliminates the need for a separate ferry flight to an outside paint shop, consolidating downtime and returning aircraft to service looking and performing their best.

Passenger-to-Freighter Conversions

As global e-commerce and express freight demand continue to reshape the air cargo market, Avocet is proud to be at the forefront of passenger-to-freighter (P2F) conversions. With more than 20 narrow-body conversions completed across both Boeing and Airbus platforms, Avocet has the proven track record and hands-on expertise that cargo operators, lessors, and asset managers need to execute these complex programs with confidence.

Avocet has partnered with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to serve as the exclusive approved conversion center in America for IAI’s B737-700BDSF and B737-800BDSF cargo conversion programs. This partnership brings one of the world’s most proven and widely adopted narrow-body freighter conversion platforms to our Sanford facility, giving cargo operators, lessors, and asset managers direct access to IAI’s conversion capability without leaving the continent.

Our Sanford facility provides the hangar space, tooling, and skilled workforce required to execute these complex, long-cycle modification programs. Working under IAI’s STC authority, Avocet delivers the structural modifications, cargo door installations, floor reinforcements, and system upgrades that transform passenger aircraft into revenue-generating freighters, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

For lessors managing fleet transitions and cargo operators expanding capacity, Avocet offers the proven execution capability and the only American IAI approved facility to bring conversion programs from induction to first revenue flight.

Aircraft Teardown and Asset Recovery

When an aircraft reaches the end of its operational life, Avocet helps asset owners, lessors, and parts traders unlock maximum residual value through professionally managed teardown programs. Our technicians systematically disassemble each aircraft, and every removed component is thoroughly inspected, accurately tagged with full back-to-birth traceability documentation, and carefully packaged for return to service, consignment, or resale.

Clients receive a comprehensive, digitally formatted inventory of all removed parts, including work order numbers, aircraft data, and detailed component information, delivered in the file format of their choice for seamless integration into asset management or inventory systems. Our component removal tags are among the most thorough in the industry, giving buyers, lessors, and parts traders the confidence they need to place parts back into the supply chain without additional research or documentation.

Line Maintenance

Our line services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing maximum operational flexibility for our customers. Heavy repair capability and AOG support are immediately available at the aircraft and at our heavy maintenance center, helping minimize the potential for unscheduled ground time. Our line teams support both passenger and cargo configurations across the aircraft types in our capability list.

24/7 Availability

Avocet offers line maintenance services for the following aircraft fleet types:

Tooling and Technical Data

Avocet maintains a complete inventory of aircraft-specific tooling and ground support equipment for every platform on our FAA repair station certificate. From airframe jacks and engine stands to specialized fixtures, test rigs, and calibrated measurement instruments, our tooling program is managed to ensure that the right equipment is available, serviceable, and current for every maintenance event we perform. Customers do not need to supply tooling or arrange third-party equipment rentals. Avocet comes fully equipped to execute the work.

We also hold current subscriptions to all OEM technical data required to support the aircraft types on our certification, including Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Wiring Diagram Manuals, and Component Maintenance Manuals. Our technical library is continuously updated to reflect the latest revisions, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives, ensuring that every task is performed using the most current manufacturer-approved data available.

Pricing and Commercial Flexibility

Avocet understands that every customer’s commercial requirements are different, and we structure our pricing to provide the transparency and predictability that airlines, cargo operators, and lessors need to manage their maintenance budgets with confidence. We offer two primary pricing models to accommodate a range of program types and customer preferences:

Fixed Price

For customers who require cost certainty, Avocet offers fixed-price packages based on a defined work scope. After a thorough review of the maintenance requirements, we provide a firm quote that covers labor, materials, and project management, giving you a clear, predictable cost from induction to redelivery with no surprises.

Time and Materials

For programs where the full scope of work may not be known in advance, such as aging aircraft checks, complex transition events, or unscheduled maintenance, Avocet offers time-and-materials pricing with full transparency into labor hours and parts costs. Our project managers provide daily progress updates and cost tracking, so customers always know where they stand.

Partnership Approach

Beyond individual maintenance events, Avocet works with customers on both long-term fleet maintenance agreements and ad hoc project-based engagements. For airlines and cargo operators seeking the stability of a dedicated MRO partner, we offer multi-year fleet programs that provide priority slot access, volume-based pricing, and the continuity of a team that knows your aircraft inside and out. For lessors, asset managers, and operators with one-time or periodic maintenance needs, we bring the same level of commitment and quality to every ad hoc project, whether it is a single C-check, a lease return, or an unscheduled drop-in event. Whatever the engagement model, Avocet’s goal is to deliver a commercial arrangement that aligns with your operational and financial objectives.
